PARALLEL PASSAGES OF FEBRUARY 14

[Mat 12:22-37 KJV] 22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw. 23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David? 24 But when the Pharisees heard [it], they said, This [fellow] doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. 25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: 26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? 27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast [them] out? therefore they shall be your judges. 28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. 29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house. 30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. 31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy [against] the [Holy] Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the [world] to come. 33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by [his] fruit. 34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. 36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

[Psa 10:7-8 KJV] 7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue [is] mischief and vanity. 8 He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.

[Psa 12:3-4 KJV] 3 The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, [and] the tongue that speaketh proud things: 4 Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips [are] our own: who [is] lord over us?

[Psa 34:13 KJV] 13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

[Psa 41:5-9 KJV] 5 Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish? 6 And if he come to see [me], he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; [when] he goeth abroad, he telleth [it]. 7 All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt. 8 An evil disease, [say they], cleaveth fast unto him: and [now] that he lieth he shall rise up no more. 9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up [his] heel against me.

[Psa 50:23 KJV] 23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth [his] conversation [aright] will I shew the salvation of God.

[Psa 52:2-4 KJV] 2 Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. 3 Thou lovest evil more than good; [and] lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah. 4 Thou lovest all devouring words, O [thou] deceitful tongue.

[Psa 64:2-5 KJV] 2 Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity: 3 Who whet their tongue like a sword, [and] bend [their bows to shoot] their arrows, [even] bitter words: 4 That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not. 5 They encourage themselves [in] an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?

[Psa 77:12 KJV] 12 I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.

[Psa 102:8 KJV] 8 Mine enemies reproach me all the day; [and] they that are mad against me are sworn against me.

[Psa 119:13, 27, 46, 54, 172 KJV] 13 With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth. ... 27 Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works. ... 46 I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed. ... 54 Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage. ... 172 My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments [are] righteousness.

[Psa 145:5-7, 11-12 KJV] 5 I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works. 6 And [men] shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness. 7 They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness. ... 11 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power; 12 To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.

[Psa 140:3, 11 KJV] 3 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison [is] under their lips. Selah. ... 11 Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow [him].

[Pro 10:11, 19-21, 31-32 KJV] 11 The mouth of a righteous [man is] a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. ... 19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips [is] wise. 20 The tongue of the just [is as] choice silver: the heart of the wicked [is] little worth. 21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom. ... 31 The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out. 32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked [speaketh] frowardness.

[Pro 12:5-6, 13, 17-19 KJV] 5 The thoughts of the righteous [are] right: [but] the counsels of the wicked [are] deceit. 6 The words of the wicked [are] to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them. ... 13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of [his] lips: but the just shall come out of trouble. ... 17 [He that] speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit. 18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise [is] health. 19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue [is] but for a moment.

[Pro 15:1, 4, 28 KJV] 1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. ... 4 A wholesome tongue [is] a tree of life: but perverseness therein [is] a breach in the spirit. ... 28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.

[Pro 18:8, 21, 23 KJV] 8 The words of a talebearer [are] as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. ... 21 Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. ... 23 The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly.

[Pro 26:20-23, 28 KJV] 20 Where no wood is, [there] the fire goeth out: so where [there is] no talebearer, the strife ceaseth. 21 [As] coals [are] to burning coals, and wood to fire; so [is] a contentious man to kindle strife. 22 The words of a talebearer [are] as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. 23 Burning lips and a wicked heart [are like] a potsherd covered with silver dross. ... 28 A lying tongue hateth [those that are] afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.

[Mat 5:22, 37 KJV] 22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. ... 37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

[Eph 4:25 KJV] 25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

[Jas 1:26 KJV] 26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion [is] vain.

[Jas 3:5-10 KJV] 5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! 6 And the tongue [is] a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. 7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: 8 But the tongue can no man tame; [it is] an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
